Koh Preah is a village situated on a small island in the middle of the Mekong River at 35km from Stung Treng Town. Koh Preah is an untouched tourist destination. It is rich in natural resources and is an enriching experience to understand Khmer culture and the Cambodia rural way of life, providing insights into local beliefs and cooking skills of the local people.

The trip to Koh Preah is an unforgettable travel experience. You will cycle along the local gravel roads following the Mekong River, passing many local families and their rice fields. The stretch of the Mekong to the South of Koh Preah is one of the most beautiful parts of the Mekong River, especially when travelling downstream through the twisting, intertwining channels, painted with small uninhabited islands, undulating sandbanks, rapids and flooded forests.

Your English speaking guide is picking you up 30 minutes before the tour start from your hotel. You and your guide will meet up at Cambodian Rural Development Organization office in Stung Treng for the tour orientation. Your guide will introduce himself and shortly brief you about the Mekong River, Stung Treng province, Koh Preah village and the schedule of the tour.

Next, you and your English speaking guide will jump on the Remork (Tuk Tuk) heading South of Stung Treng Town. After 45 minutes journey by Remork you will reach to the place where you will get on the boat to go to the island of Koh Preah (God Island). The boat trip is going to take around 1 hour.

After, you reach the island you will be introduced to your host family and they will show you the place where you will sleepover the night and the bathroom. Lunch will be the next activities. You will have lunch with local family and spend this time to learn more from them about their way of life and their family. Your guide will give you a small rest after Lunch. The best place to rest is underneath the wooden house on a bamboo bed or hammock.

Nap time finished, your guide will bring you for a village trekking tour to visit local pagoda, school, small shops and observe the local way of life during the day. After, you will jump on the boat to see the dolphins in the Mekong or try to fish with local fishing gear. You will come back to the village and have some rest. During the dinner you can spend time to learn more from your host family.

Next day, you can help the host family to feed their livestock in the early morning such as chicken and pig and try the local steam bath for fun and health. Lastly, you will prepare for the departure back to Stung Treng Town. End of the tour.
